Founded after World War II as the Edgerton Businessmen’s Association, the organization underwent a name change in the 1970s. Roger Strup articulated its vision and mission clearly: “The purpose of the Edgerton Chamber of Commerce is to enhance the cultural and economic welfare of the Edgerton, Ohio area.” In 2025, we adopted the name MainStreet Edgerton to further emphasize that same vision and mission.
At MainStreet Edgerton, we are committed to upholding the wonderful tradition of serving our community as a hub for ideas, activities, and information. We aim to transform these into actionable outcomes through collaboration among the community, businesses, and industries that are connected to Edgerton. We actively foster community spirit through lively events such as the annual Homecoming celebration, the Easter Egg Hunt at Park View, Village Trunk or Treat, and the Santa Parade. Our goal is to turn the community’s visions into action, contributing to the growth and prosperity of our village and making it the best place to live and work.
We envision a vibrant community that supports and uplifts each individual. Our goal is to discover new opportunities, enhance our unique character, and create an Edgerton that attracts people not just for its offerings, but also for the strong sense of connection and belonging that is felt here.

A little about Edgerton, Ohio, our hometown!
Edgerton is a charming town located in the northwest corner of Ohio, embodying the spirit of community and resilience. Once a significant part of the former Northwest Territory, Edgerton was officially incorporated on December 4, 1865. The town is named after Alfred P. Edgerton, a visionary agent of the American Lands Company. With its rich history, culture, and strong sense of community, Edgerton stands as a beacon of what it truly means to be a special place to call home.
